コンサート (Part III)

Kinki Kids

Kinki Kids
☆ Kinki Kids Dome Tour ~ font de Anniversary (30/12/2004) ☆

I started to like Kinki Kids’ songs when I first went to Japan in Oct 1997. I heard their song almost during my whole trip because they had released their first single then. So from then, I have been following Kinki’s songs.

Last year before I planned for my Japan trip, I told myself that I must go for Kinki’s concert since I will be in Japan. So I managed to buy their concert ticket for 9700yen (original price around 6000yen) at a ticket shop in Shinjuku. R and I were seated apart as our tickets cost differently.

It was the first time I attended a concert at Tokyo Dome. I was amazed by the number of people at Tokyo Dome. Imagine having 10 to 20 thousands people appearing at the same venue. I queued for the concert goods outside Dome, so cold then. And only after I entered the stadium, I realized there were stalls inside the stadium too. >_<

When then lights dimmed and Kinki appeared on stage and started singing new single “Anniversary”, I was like “Wow!!!” I have never thought that I would attend their concert. The whole stadium was lighted up with 營光棒 full of different colours (it changed colours by itself). I was seated at the centre, facing the stage. So I could see how beautiful the whole stadium was when the營光棒lighted up. I was touched by the sight I saw and 我的心情佷激動.

As Kinki just released their second selection album and new single on 22 Dec, they sang the songs from the selection album and single. I was so happy because I knew most of the songs! When Kinki sang ね、がんばるよ, my tears rolled down uncontrollably. I have always like that song and the lyrics were meaningful. At that moment, I felt “Kinki のコンきったようがたです。”

I was also surprised that Kinki sounded so well singing live. I heard them singing live at variety show many years back, and it was.. er.. This time they really improved and sound almost same in CD!

Before they ended the concert, 剛 sang the first line of “Anniversary” without music, then all the audience started to sing. 超感動!

Oh, NEWS appeared at Kinki’s concert! So I managed to listen to them sing live and saw 山P. I still remember I could not see the screen clearly and asked the girl who sat beside me who were they. When I heard NEWS, 山P straight away appear on my mind is So I started searching for him on the screen. They started talking about the Big Johnny Countdown concert. When they wanted to sing, they said they want to go to the stage at the other end (just in front of my section) to sing. Oh, so happy. So I tip toed and tried to catch sights of 山P. They discussed for quite a while on how to dance. 剛 could not stand it and got ‘angry’ and asked them to sing. So funny.

I would like to attend Kinki’s concert again if I have the chance. I always feel happy and energetic when I listen to their songs. I do not really 迷 them, but they have always been in part of my heart.

David Tao Soul Power concert (7/12/2003) and Eagles Concert (18/10/2004)

These are the other 2 concerts I could not forget. David has the power to motivate everyone to stand up and dance. I sat alone (bought the ticket last minute) but I still enjoyed myself.

I am not Eagles fan but I must really salute them for their great songs and great sound system. It was the best sound system I heard in Indoor Stadium. Also, when they sang “Desperado”, the whole stadium lighted up with lighters and mobile phones. 超感動! Thanks to R for inviting me to the concert. If not I would have missed out such a great performance!

福山雅治 ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

☆ 福山☆冬の大感謝祭 其の七 “ボク、銀幕出身なんです。ウフッ” (31/12/2004) ☆
Ah… my long awaited concert. After waiting for 6 years, I finally managed to attend Masha’s concert! A lot of things happened in between and I didn’t get to watch his concert till 6 years later. And this time round, the concert halls were very small and the tickets were hard to get. So I considered myself lucky to be able to get one pair of tickets for the concert.

The concert was held at パシフィコ横浜. It started at 11pm and ended at 3.05am! The song list is as follows:

2. 遠くへ

We managed to see Masha’s HA HA HA FILMS, which consists of short films he filmed for XYLISH in 2004. It was his first film. Very hard to get hold of the dvd! I remember there were a few stories:

1. Masha acted as a detective. It was a mystery on what he wanted to find out. In the end, it was just a cat, if I remember it correctly

2.Masha acted as a professor. A Japanese guy and a foreign guy met with him. The foreign guy wanted to seek his help but the Japanese guy, who is the interpreter screwed up the translation process. In the end, both guys were angry of Masha and left. Of course, Masha was puzzled by their action. The title is called “Lost in Interpretation”

3. Masha’s buddy, who is not good looking, fell in love with a beautiful woman who is taller than him. And Masha realised that the woman is a man when they went to the same toilet and the woman urined like he did! He wanted to tell his buddy but it was too late. The buddy slept with the ‘woman’ and he doesn’t mean being with the ‘woman.’

4. Masha in real life was sick. The doctor, who was also played by Masha attended to him. When one of Masha’s co-workers found that the doctor looked like him, he asked him to pose as Masha and do Masha’s job. So the doctor acted the role well, no one found out about it. Till one of the co-worker smelled that something was wrong. He asked the doctor to sing 桜坂 but his tune was different from Masha’s. When the real Masha sang, the co-worker realized that the doctor was the imposer.

I saw few scene of Masha in his first movie ~ ほんの5g too. His looks and hairstyle were so funny that time, only around 21 years old!

When Masha came out, I was like, Oh my gosh! Though I was seated at second storey, I can still see him, but cant see his facial expression that clearly. There was a big screen behind him. It’s really amazing to watch him singing ‘live.’ His voice is good. Better than 1998! I think it is because he quitted smoking. When I hear him singing ‘Message,’ I was so happy. I wanted to hear him sing this song ‘live.’ That was the time (1995) when I started to like him and gone crazy over ‘Message.’ This was the last song he had released before he rested for 3 years!

Around 11.40pm, Masha started to talk and chat with us. Masha started asking where the fans came from (eg. Tokyo etc). When he asked were there any overseas fans, R and I shouted シンガポール. He heard our shouting, taken by surprise and mumbled something like ‘is it true’. I think he was not prepared there were overseas fans as he has always concentrate on Japan market.

Almost to midnight, various TV programs showing on TV was shown on the screen. When the screen showed 堂本光一 (Kinki Kids) singing at Big Johnny’s Countdown concert, there was a bit of commotion from the audience. I think Masha was aware, he asked the channel to be switched. Haha!

Almost to 12 midnight, we started our countdown. It was so fun to shout and cheered with Masha and the rest.

Guess what, a while after the countdown, Masha sang Kissin' in the Holy Night. Masha said we are the first to hear the Christmas song in Year 2005!

Masha was funny. He asked us to sit down when he talked to us and sang slow songs. He asked us to stand up again for the fast tracks. We were all so obedient and followed his instructions!

When Masha returned to stage for Encore 1, he dressed in the concert T-shirt. As I guessed, it was the black t-shirt! This time concert, he had 2 t-shirts, 1 black and the other pink. Different designs. I like the black one.

It was the first time I heard Masha sang 私は風になる. This was the song he composed for Olympic 2005 and was not released in singles yet. Frankly speaking, I cannot remember the tunes as I only heard it once.

The fans refused to leave after the first encore. Masha asked us whether there were any trains after midnight, we said no more trains. We’ll stay here till the next morning! Haha, he really believed us!

At the second encore, Masha sang 幸せなら手おたたこう. This song goes like “If you are happy and you know it clap your hands, *clap clap*.” He sang it 5 times in total for both Encores 2 & 3!!! Masha sang clap hands, tap our face, stamp our feet and snort. Of course, we did not follow him when he snorted. The whole audience just burst with laughs. He was rather ‘disappointed’ that we did not follow him and said we should do so. Haha!

When he came out at the third encore, I was already cheering like mad. He said
‘お客様いいな’ and begged us to let him go because he was hungry. He rolled up his sleeve and acted like a muscular man. Haha. He really looked very tired. So after the last song for the third encore, the audience left the hall.

It was the first time for me to attend a countdown concert. The feeling was GREAT! UNBELIVEABLE! It was my dream to spend the last second of each year with Masha. And I did it. I am glad that I attended Masha’s大感謝祭. The moment when I was about to leave the hall, I told myself, I will attend every Masha’s 大感謝祭 in future.

Now, I’m looking forward to Masha’s 15th anniversary finale concerts in Osaka at end of May!

陶喆 ~ [太平盛世]音樂會

David at Singapore press conference

David at [太平盛世] 音樂會

I went to 陶喆 (David Tao) mini concert at Singapore Expo Hall 1 on 30 April 2005, Saturday. Supposed to reach there at 4.30pm but was late and reached there only at 5pm. R was already at the queue. I’m quite surprised because the queue then was not that long. Anyway, I haven’t been queuing up for such events for a long time. Nowadays, probably only a few artists can motivate me to do so. David is only one of the few.

We were allowed to enter the hall at 6pm. I managed to stand at the left hand corner of the stage, only about 4 persons behind the barrack. Quite near to the stage actually. I’m a bit surprised. Waited till around 7.30pm before a UK group called “Wild” came on stage. They were a group of 5 young and sexy girls who played violins and keyboards. Their music was rather noisy, not my type of music.

David came out around 7.50pm and started singing ‘蘇珊說’. He wore a black t-shirt with gold color prints and a torn jeans. Oh, and his silver buckle belt and a pair of black shoes! Very clean and normal look.

My first impression of him… nothing special. I heard he is 1.8cm tall. But he doesn’t look that tall. In fact, he looks like a normal person. It’s only when he started talking, you’ll get attracted to him.

Actually I’m surprised that I’m quite closed to him. He walked to the edge of the left hand side of the stage and sang for a while quite a number of times. Our distance was around 1 – 2 meters.

David started to talk and joked. He’s very humorous. This is what I find him quite similar to Masha. Both of them were born on the year of Rooster and very talented. He’s a few months younger than Masha.

There were games and lucky draws. From the small gesture, I can sense that David is a polite and considerate person. He cares for his fans a lot. For example, he knows his fans (or not even his fans??) like to take pictures. So he’ll stand at each corner of the stage for a while when he was singing, so that they could take pictures. He could even remembered and called out one of his fans’ name while she only mentioned her name once on stage. And the funny part is there were 2 other fans on stage, all dressed in pink shirts (1 guy and 1 gal). He called the gal in pink ‘小粉紅’ and he did not find it funny. We were however all laughing about it!

David sang few other songs:

就是愛你

愛我還是他

月亮代表誰的心

愛佷簡單

When he sang ‘愛佷簡單’, I was already in high spirits. Singing and swinging along with him. It was really enjoyable when he stood in front of me and I just sang and swing my arms with him.

David mentioned that he will come to Singapore in end of this year for a concert. He’s one of the rare Chinese singers whom I’ll be willing to pay high price for the concert. I’m really looking forward to David’s concert!

By the way, I have this feeling that David is one of those who will gain weight easily. His body looks proportionally well to me. His arms are rather fleshy and muscular. So I guess he can put on weight easily. Haha!

Another thing I must mention. R & I really HATE those people who kept taking pictures while David was singing! Really can’t figure out whether they are his fans or not. Those fools around us kept taking pictures of David non-stop. It was really rude and irritating! I think R & I were the only ones singing and swinging along while David was singing at our area. I think David noticed it but I did not manage to have eye contact with him to confirm on it. Please for heaven’s sake, the organizers should confiscate the cameras for such events in the future!
