Mother's and Father's Day
I am listening to Masha's All Night Nippon now. Masha talked about his mother and read emails from listeners who wrote about their mother.
I can't remember when our family started to celebrate Mother's and Father's Day. It has become a standard celebration - having a meal together and giving my parents red packet. I guess this is the standard celebration in all families.
Come to think of it. Though our family celebrate Mother's and Father's Day, I have never said "Thank You" to my parents for all their hard work in taking care of the family and me. Expressing our appreciation to our parents is not a Chinese culture. In a way, I like the Western culture of expressing their love to the family so straightforward. I hope I can do the same... but it's kind of embrassing.
I guess as long as I don't upset my parents, they will feel happy though. (^^;)
Masha is now saying that he has never and will never say Thank You and hug his mom. It's too embarassing. But during young, he did sticked to his mom, hug and called for her. Well, what he said is true. It's hard...especially when we have grow up. It's not that hard actually, but just that we are not used to it...
